Why the small swap costs more: bitcoin.org says Bitcoin's fee is not related to the amount of bitcoins being sent, only to the size of the transaction, and ethereum.org says Ethereum's gas is paid in Ethereum's native currency, ether (ETH), the same for any amount. A fee set too low can leave your deposit waiting in the mempool. If your wallet lets you choose, pick its normal or fast fee.
