Zcash (ZEC) swap, no account, no ID. Zcash has two pockets. We fill one. You zip it.
Every Zcash wallet has a clear pocket and a zipped one. The mule delivers your ZEC to the clear one, a t1 address, because that's where swaps reach. Zipping it inside takes one tap in your own wallet. No account. No ID.

Zcash is a coat with two pockets.
The outside pocket is clear plastic. Addresses starting with t1 or t3 work like Bitcoin: anyone walking by can see what goes in and out.
The inside pocket zips shut. Addresses starting with u1 or zs are shielded: who paid, who got paid and how much stay inside.
Same coin, same wallet. You choose which pocket each coin sits in. That choice is what makes Zcash Zcash.
Four trips between pockets. One stays fully zipped.
Coins can move four ways. Clear to clear, everyone sees both ends. Clear to zipped, the street sees them going in. Zipped to clear, the street sees them coming out.
Zipped to zipped, nobody sees who, how much or the note. That's the trip Zcash was built for.
The network fee is always visible, on every trip. It's tiny, and it's the same for everyone.
Twin buttons give you away.
Here's the slip people make. They zip 3.217 ZEC inside, then pull the same 3.217 ZEC out a minute later.
An odd amount going in and the same odd amount coming straight out is easy to tie together with a thread. Researchers showed exactly this back in 2018.
So let coins sit inside for a while, and move different amounts. The zip works best when it stays shut.
The mule fills the clear pocket. You zip it.
Swap desks and exchanges pay ZEC to clear addresses. So does the mule: paste a t1, t3 or tex1 address and your ZEC lands there.
We count a ZEC deposit after 10 blocks, about 12 minutes, one block every 75 seconds. Then the mule sets off.
Once it lands, one tap in your own wallet moves it inside. Your coins, your zip, your call. And you can pay us from either pocket.
A new inside pocket, sewn in July 2026.
In May 2026 a flaw turned up in Zcash's inside pocket, called Orchard. It was closed, analysts found no sign anyone had used it, and on 28 July 2026 Zcash sewed in a new one, Ironwood.
The old pocket now only lets coins out, through a one-way gate. Your addresses stay the same.
If your wallet is old, update it, and your coins move across to the new lining.

Where people lose ZEC, and how the mule keeps you from it.
Thinking t1 is the zipped pocket
Coins on a t1 or t3 address are as public as Bitcoin. Shield them in your wallet if you want them inside.
Same odd amount, in and out
Zipping 3.217 ZEC in and pulling 3.217 ZEC out a minute later ties the two together. Wait, and move different amounts.
A u1 address where t1 is asked
Payouts here go to clear addresses. Paste your t1, t3 or tex1 address, then zip the coins inside yourself.
An old wallet after Ironwood
Coins left in the old Orchard pocket can only come out. Update your wallet, and it moves them to Ironwood for you.
ZEC roads the mule walks.
Every swap in and out of Zcash with its own page, its own times and its own checklist.
Zcash swaps, answered.
Is Zcash private?
Its zipped pocket is. Shielded to shielded hides who paid, who got paid and how much. A t1 address is as public as Bitcoin, so shield your coins in your wallet when you want them inside.
Can I get my ZEC paid to a u1 or zs address?
Not yet. Paste a t1, t3 or tex1 address, and once it lands, move it into your shielded pocket with one tap in your wallet.
Can I send ZEC from a shielded wallet?
Yes. You can pay us from either pocket. A shielded payment to our deposit address shows its amount when it arrives, like any trip out of the zipped pocket.
How long does a ZEC swap take?
We count your deposit after 10 blocks, about 12 minutes. On Fast, ZEC to Bitcoin takes about 45 minutes and ZEC to USDT about 35. On Stealth it lands on the day you pick.
Do I need an account or ID?
No. No account, no email and no ID. Just the address you want paid.
What is a viewing key?
A read-only tag for your zipped pocket. It lets someone, like an accountant, see inside without spending anything. Once shared, it can't be taken back.
What happened to Orchard?
A flaw was found in May 2026 and closed, and analysts found no sign anyone had used it. On 28 July 2026 the Ironwood upgrade replaced Orchard. Update your wallet and your coins move across.
Zcash or Monero?
Monero keeps every payment private, with nothing to choose. Zcash lets you choose, and show when you want to. Both swap here with no account.
